Incoming Transmission

This project is a single-player, choice-driven narrative game created during the spring of 2023 for an advanced seminar class.  This was a solo project that stemmed more passion than the grade at the time

My Role and Experience

Incoming Transmission is a choice-driven, single-player game that I worked on in the spring of 2023. This entire game was developed solely by me, I had to spend much more time designing the world the characters existed in. To create the atmosphere I wanted to, I spent a lot of time researching everything from the politics of the era to the internal military structure of branches of the Soviet Military.

This game was meant to be an exercise in world-building, more serious dialogue, and creating different/believable characters in their atmosphere.

This project also challenged me in other aspects, such as system design and VFX, which ended up being a healthy conflict in development, as it strengthened some of my weaker aspects in general game design.

​

One of the more interesting parts of the system is a dynamic choice system that will open up more and new events based on what the player has chosen in other events, trying to give the player a more curated experience. With the total amount of possible events going over 35.
